Hey Bantonians! For a long time, people have been somewhat confused about Banto's long-term vision. We're not trying to copy what's already out there—whether it's Jackbox, Gimkit, Blooket, or Roblox. Instead, we want to create a platform that allows people to build structured party games—like Jackbox, Blooket, Gimkit, or Among Us—but with the flexibility and depth of a platform like Roblox. (But not completely sandbox-y like Roblox, of course.)
Here's What We Intend to Do Over Time:
- A game engine powerful enough to allow sandbox-style creation—but within typical party game constraints: time-based, scene- or loop-driven, quick to pick up, and with little to no persistence
- A creator-driven economy where anyone can build their own games and make a storefront out of them
- A social layer for users to trade, customize, and personalize their experience fully
- A wonderful community that bolsters the overall platform experience—through events, cosmetics, etc.
- A discovery search engine that allows for exploration of creativity and new ideas/formats as opposed to copy-paste slop
To power this ecosystem, ensure we remain sustainable, and keep growing, here are the two things we're introducing:
Banto Premium
Banto Premium is our simple subscription model. It unlocks extra benefits for players, creators, and hosts who want more out of Banto (whether it be event hosts, teachers, you, etc.) Over time, Premium will include things that improve the value of the offerings below:
- Better hosting & creator perks
- Banto Gold every month
- 10% More Banto Gold when you purchase packs
Banto Gold
Banto Gold is our paid virtual currency. It's what powers transactions on the platform, like:
- Purchasing cosmetics
- Purchasing in-game power-ups or other creator-made items
We're keeping Banto Gold (our premium currency) and BantoBux (BBX, our free currency) completely separate. BBX is earnable through logging in and playing daily. Gold is premium. Over time, the use cases for both will expand. This will become especially true as creators get storefronts and can build their own economies on top of Banto.
What We're Working On Now
Right now, Banto Gold doesn't have many places to be spent. And Banto Premium definitely needs a lot more features. But that'll change pretty quickly. As we build out more systems to improve facets such as trading, creator stores, events, and progression, you'll see the value start to emerge.
For now, we just wanted to introduce these two new pillars to you. With them, we hope they'll be able to support running our servers, future creators, and a better platform experience as we grow.
